November 2026 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church: The Beacon Newsletter and Daily Prayer Guide
November brings opportunities for worship, Christian fellowship, service, and thanksgiving at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Lititz, Pennsylvania. Our November 2026 edition of The Beacon newsletter has been released, sharing congregational news, upcoming events, ministry opportunities, and reflections upon God’s gracious gifts. Alongside the newsletter, our November edition of Mount Calvary at Prayer provides a daily guide for Scripture reading, meditation, and prayer. We invite members, friends, and neighbors throughout Lancaster County to explore these resources and participate in the life of our congregation.

This month’s Beacon begins with a pastoral reflection from Pastor Christopher Seifferlein on the familiar practice of giving thanks before meals. Drawing upon Luther’s Small Catechism, Pastor reminds us that our prayers ask God not only to bless our food, but also to bless us as recipients of His generosity. November’s edition also includes a reflection on Gottesdienst, the Lutheran understanding of worship as God’s gracious service to His people through Word and Sacrament from Vicar Michael Usner. Together, these articles encourage us to recognize the Lord’s gifts and receive them with faith and thanksgiving. Click Here to Read The Beacon Newsletter

Serving Our Neighbors in Lititz and Lancaster County
November also brings opportunities to serve others through the congregation’s mercy and outreach ministries. Our Operation Christmas Child packing party is scheduled for November 14, while donations are being collected for residents of Neffsville Nursing & Rehabilitation. Members may contribute new, unwrapped Christmas gifts through December 13, helping share kindness and encouragement with our neighbors. The Mercy Care Team and Stewardship Committee also invite members to complete their survey by November 22, supporting future mentorship opportunities and identifying skills that can serve the congregation.
Mount Calvary at Prayer: November Scripture Readings and Devotions
The November edition of Mount Calvary at Prayer invites the congregation into a shared rhythm of daily Scripture reading, prayer, and meditation. This month’s readings follow the Gospel according to Saint Mark, beginning with the proclamation of Jesus Christ and continuing through His teaching, miracles, and ministry. Optional readings from Jeremiah, weekly Psalms, selections from Luther’s Small Catechism, and prayers for congregational families enrich this daily practice. Whether used individually or with family, the guide encourages Christians to hear God’s Word and bring their needs before Him.
From All Saints’ Day to the Beginning of Advent
November begins with All Saints’ Day, giving thanks for the faithful departed and the communion of saints in Jesus Christ. As the Church Year draws to its conclusion, our readings direct attention toward Christ’s promised resurrection, His final judgment, and the hope of everlasting life. On November 29, the First Sunday in Advent begins a new Church Year, turning our attention toward the coming of our Lord. These observances remind us that the Christian life rests upon Christ’s saving promises rather than our own accomplishments.
