Mount Calvary is the Confessional Lutheran Church of Lancaster County

The October Beacon of Mount Calvary has been released!

We are blessed to participate in this historic time at Mount Calvary. Our capital campaign and building project gives us the occasion to think about the work that God has given us to do here in this place. As we move into the Inspire phase of our capital campaign in mid- October, I am excited about the opportunity I have to do just this. I am tasked with leading three bible classes on whatever topic I may choose relating to our project and to stewardship. I have chosen to look at three major events in the life of God’s people as they have begun and completed the work that God called them to do. These events focus on something that was accomplished, and the role of God’s people in completing it.

We will look at these three events:

• Moses & God’s People Construct the Tabernacle, the Place of God’s Meeting Here on Earth—
Exodus 37:1-37 and following.

• Nehemiah & God’s People Rebuild the Temple after a time of National Unfaithfulness—
Nehemiah 1:1-54 & following.

• The Building of the Early Church—The Story of Jesus, Mary Magdalene & the Early Apostles—
Luke 8:1-25 — Acts 2:1-47 & 5:1-42

These studies will take place on October 15, 22, & 29 during our Sunday School Study Hour. We welcome your participation as we learn about how God’s people of the past met and faced challenges very similar to what we have before us. Become inspired as you are guided to understand how God provided for them and blessed their efforts that were pleasing in His sight.
