Ministry Expansion Campaign Update

Our Ministry Expansion Campaign’s three-year giving period begins on Sunday, December 3! You may have heard some of our campaign team members refer to this day as the “First Fruits Celebration.” This is when we harvest the initial campaign gifts pledged by everyone in the congregation, and it is connected to when the Israelites were commanded to give the first fruits of their bountiful harvest. We, too, are called to fear, love, and trust in God and his promises as we give sacrificially. There are many ways to give: (1) place cash or checks in the blue ‘Building Fund’ envelopes available in the narthex – remember to put your offering number and name on the back of the envelope (these envelopes will be available in your 2024 envelope boxes), (2) see the information on electronic giving in the December Beacon, and (3) for other giving inquiries contact Ron Allison. Regardless of your chosen giving method, the campaign team would like to remind you to give cheerfully so we all may grow in our faith individually and as a congregation. Gifts will be received through December 2026 – and beyond!

December 3 Worship & Bible Class Preparation

Our King comes. That is the message as we begin this first Sunday of the Church Year. We do not have a God who leaves us alone in our sin and in our suffering. He comes to rescue and deliver. Join us this Sunday as we hear of Jesus triumphant march into Jerusalem as we join the crowds, sing our praises, and bow down before us. “Hosanna!” we sing. “Save us! Now!” You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.

This week’s readings:

Old Testament: Jeremiah 23:5-8

Psalm: Psalm 24:1-10

Epistle: Romans 13:11-14

Gospel: Matthew 21:1-9

Bible Study in Lititz Happens at Mount Calvary Bible Class

Join us for Adult Bible Class for the worship service! This week we will study Romans chapter 12. After completing the major doctrinal part of the letter, Paul engages in something scholars call, “paraenesis.” Paul exhorts the hearers as to what the Gospel means in their daily lives. As the Lord has rescued us, how shall we live? Join us at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Lititz, PA this Sunday.
