If Our Church Isn’t Crying, It’s Dying – Mount Calvary Certainly Has LIFE!

Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Welcome All The Little Ones, And Their Parents

An Update From The Sunday School at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church

Sunday School – Pre-schoolers through 2nd grade are studying OT lessons with Nancy Marshall, Emily Badaracco, Jean Lin and Sarah Holton. Although for Palm Sunday, we taught Jesus riding into Jerusalem to start His journey to the cross for us where He showed His glory. We also covered the Easter story. The older elementary students are reviewing NT lessons with Erin Seifferlein. The high school class is studying the Large Catechism. The children enhanced our worship services on Palm Sunday and Easter with singing. Thank you, students, for raising your voices and giving praise to God. You filled our worship with beautiful sounds. The Sunday School students created beautiful Easter greeting cards for our shut-ins. They were gorgeous and are always appreciated. Thanks, kids! Have you stopped by the bulletin board in the hallway across from the restrooms to view the children’s sincere prayers? Their prayers just may inspire you in your prayer life! Check them out! We are blessed at Mount Calvary to have families committed to their child’s Christian education. Thank you, parents, for supporting the work the teachers and our Pastor performs and for your follow-up at home. The children truly enjoy being here learning about their Lord and Savior.

Youth – The Youth had a very enjoyable evening at David-Paul Schultze’s home enjoying Christian fellowship, food, and fun! Can’t go wrong with pizza, games, and good friends. Thanks to David-Paul and Erin Seifferlein for chaperoning.

Vacation Bible School – VBS will be held on Wednesdays during the month of June. The theme this year is based on Psalms. Evening Prayer will close out the evening of learning and singing. 6 PM to 8 PM.

Child Protection Policy – LCMS has partnered with MinistrySafe to provide child protection resources. Anyone at Mount Calvary who interacts with children, ages 0-17, must participate in a training video, read the MCLC Child Protection Policy, and submit updated clearances. Liz Velkly is coordinating this for us, with Nancy Marshall assisting. If you know you will be working with children in the future in any capacity, please see Liz or Nancy to get started. Please contact us with any questions. Thank you!
