Quasimodo Geniti Sunday at Mount Calvary Propers

Join the saints at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Lititz PA this weekend on Quasimodo Geniti Sunday. All are welcome and we would love your company as we gather on the Second Sunday of Easter.

On this Sunday after Easter, we join the disciples in the Upper Room where they gather dejected and full of fear after Jesus’ brutal and illegal state sponsored execution three days previously. Jesus comes into the middle of the locked room with a message of peace and sending. He has chosen these doubters, runners, and deniers to be His ambassadors of God’s pardon and peace to the entire world. That’s how great Jesus’ cross is. It forgives sin, covering us with the fruits of Christ’s redemption. “And the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.” And we are too. Christ is risen! You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.

Propers Reading:

Old Testament: Ezekiel 37:1-14

Psalm: Psalm 33:1-22

Epistle: 1 John 5:4-10

Gospel: John 20:19-31

If you are visiting us this Sunday, please introduce yourself and sign our guest registry located in the narthex. If you are listening online and would like to send us a note or encouragement, on our contact page. We welcome you to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church!

Join us for Adult Bible Class! This week we will be reading Daniel chapter 3. King Nebuchadnezzar erects an image of gold and threatens to throw into a Fiery Furnace any person who does not bow down and worship the image. We will consider Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and their respectful unwillingness to comply, as well as the fourth visitor that appears with them in the furnace to converse with them.

Our Midweek Divine Service, offered weekly on Wednesday evening at 7PM, contains different readings, liturgy, and sermon than Sunday. Private Confession & Absolution is available by appointment with the pastor.
