Church Sanctuary Dedication This Weekend in Lancaster PA

On Saturday, November 30, as part of our dedication weekend, we will have a Saturday Evening Prayer service at 6 PM, with special music beforehand at 5:45 PM. Bishop Jeffrey Miskus will serve as the liturgist and Pastor Seifferlein will preach. Coffee and cake will be enjoyed after the service.

On Sunday, December 1 we will have our main service of blessing and dedication. We will gather in the narthex and wait until our bishop “opens the doors.” We will enter the sanctuary as the room, font, pews, organ, and communion rail are blessed. At this service our bishop will preach. After the service we will have a meal in our fellowship hall. Following our meal, we will get a chance to meet our bishop and ask him questions about the ministry and mission of the English District. All are welcome to attend!

Last Sunday of the Church Year at Mount Calvary Church

It’s the last Sunday of the Church Year! We gather to hear one final word. The bridegroom is coming. Are you ready for Jesus’ return?

“Wake, awake, for night is flying,”
The watchmen on the heights are crying;
“Awake, Jerusalem, arise!”
Midnight hears the welcome voices
And at the thrilling cry rejoices:
“Oh, where are ye, ye virgins wise?
The Bridegroom comes, awake!
Your lamps with gladness take!
Alleluia!
With bridal care
Yourselves prepare
To meet the Bridegroom, who is near.”

Bible Study in Lancaster PA

In our study of Song of Solomon this week we will examine the marriage practices of the Solomonic world. And in order that we might not think the themes of this book are unimportant or avoidable, we will also see that the themes of love and Christ are in our hymnody. An audio recording of this class can be listened to here:
