Gathering under the open sky, surrounded by music, food, and fellowship, group members had the opportunity to relax, unwind, and enjoy God’s creation in community.

Another spiritually enriching experience took the group to Baltimore, MD, where they attended a reverent and beautifully celebrated Divine Service at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Worshiping with fellow Lutherans and experiencing the broader church beyond Lancaster helped deepen their appreciation for the liturgy and the unity of doctrine found in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).

More recently, the group embarked on a scenic hike to Chickies Rock, a popular overlook along the Susquehanna River. As they trekked through wooded trails and gathered atop the cliffs to take in the sweeping views, conversations naturally flowed—about life, faith, and everything in between. These events aren’t simply social outings—they’re intentional opportunities to foster spiritual growth, mutual encouragement, and the joy of Christian friendship.

Many of the young adults are regular participants in Mount Calvary’s Midweek Divine Services, where they gather midweek to hear the preaching of the Word, receive the Sacrament, and pray together in the traditional liturgical rhythm of the Church.

Following the service, the group often continues its evening with fellowship at The Mad Chef Brewery and Eatery in Lancaster. These informal gatherings provide space for meaningful conversations about theology, Scripture, and everyday Christian living. Over food and drinks, discussions often range from the sermons they’ve heard, to apologetics, to how they can remain faithful witnesses in today’s cultural landscape.
