Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Lancaster PA Midweek Sermon & More
Young Families Group and the Young at Heart
Join Lutherans in Lancaster for fun, food and fellowship as the Young Families Group will meet Saturday, April 27 at 5:30 PM for a potluck (bring a dish or two to pass) and discussion-based study at Cale and Anna Boriack’s home. After supper, the children will be excused to enjoy some organized playtime. We are continuing John Kleinig’s book “Wonderfully Made: A Protestant Theology of the Body.” In this book study we hope to dig into the deep mystery of our bodies, who made them, why they matter, and what they were made for. We will consider, along the way, how many (if not most) of the issues facing our modern Western culture are over the purpose, use, and importance of the body. We will learn to see our bodies how God sees them. Contact us for more details.

Traditional Church Service April 28 Worship & Congregational Meeting
By dying, rising, and ascending, Jesus unleashed the power of the Holy Spirit into the world. Through these events, the Spirit could come and announce to us the truth of what has taken place. In Jesus’ death we see what our sins have done. In His resurrection, we see what He has done for us. In His ascension into heaven, we see that the devil has been put on notice and his days are numbered. We sit at Jesus’ feet and hear teaching. In this world this is where true joys are found, in Christ and in His death, resurrection, and ascension. You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.
Old Testament: Isaiah 12:1-6
Psalm: Psalm 61:1-8
Epistle: James 1:17-21
Gospel: John 16:5-15
A Congregational Meeting, immediately following the worship service on Sunday, will update the congregation on past and future activities of each Board on the Church Council here. Thank you in advance for your participation!
