The September Beacon From Mount Calvary Church
A group from church will be camping at Gifford Pinchot State Park (2200 Rosstown Road, Lewisberry, PA 17339) from September 12-14. If you would like to stay overnight, please let Anna Boriack know ASAP so that we can make sure we have a site for everyone. For those of you not staying overnight, please join us for fellowship, dinner, and a campfire church service in the group camping area of the campground starting around 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 13. Bring a dish to share, place settings for your group, drinks, and a place to sit. A friendly reminder that Pennsylvania State Parks are alcohol free. A sign-up sheet is in the narthex. If you have any questions, please contact Anna Boriack.
Dining Out Night will be held on Tuesday, September 2 at 6:00 PM for food and fellowship. We will be dining at Olde Lincoln House, 1398 W. Main St., Ephrata. Please sign up on the sheet in the narthex. This is a great way to spend an evening getting to know each other. Questions? Contact Ron or Nancy Stiegler or fill out the Contact Form on the Contact Page.
Please join the Women of Mount Calvary for a Bible Class and time together on Saturday, September 6 from 11:00 – 12:30 AM. In our study of the Gospel of St. John, we will look at 12:12-19, “The Entrance of the King of Israel (Palm Sunday).” All women of the congregation are welcome to attend this class no matter what their knowledge is of the bible. Please speak with Mary Anne Sylvester or Deb Lynch for more information in church or reach out on the Contact Page.

Men’s Bible Study Breakfast will meet at 7:30 AM on Saturday, September 27 at Mount Calvary. Come enjoy a hearty breakfast and good conversation with your brothers in Christ. This month we will continue our study of Luther’s Small Catechism by looking at the Daily Prayer section. See how Luther never really left the monks cowl behind but advocated every home to be a monastery. Join us as we strengthen our understanding in our God-given roles as men in our lives, church, and world. Please RSVP on the easel in the narthex, or reach out on the Contact Page.
Church Family Group and the Young at Heart will meet Saturday, September 27 at 4:00 PM for a potluck (bring a dish or two to pass) and discussion-based study at the home of David and Anna Garber in Manheim PA. After supper, the children will be excused to enjoy some organized playtime. Please RSVP in the narthex or by contacting the church office.
And don’t forget, Mount Calvary Lutheran Church will be hosting an event at the 2025 March for Life Pennsylvania in Harrisburg. Learn more at LancasterLutheran.com/LIFE
