Men’s Bible Study Breakfast

Saturday, November 22 • 7:30 AM • Mount Calvary Lutheran Church

The men of Mount Calvary will gather bright and early on Saturday for the Men’s Bible Study Breakfast, a monthly tradition that blends hearty food with deep conversation centered on God’s Word. Around the breakfast table, brothers in Christ share encouragement, discuss Scripture, and strengthen one another in their God-given callings as husbands, fathers, leaders, and servants within the Church and the world.

This month’s study continues through Luther’s Small Catechism, focusing specifically on The Rite for Private Confession and Absolution included in Luther’s original text. Together we will consider how the Lutheran reformers preserved the gift of confession while removing the abuses that had obscured the Gospel in the medieval church. Participants will explore why Luther retained confession as a pastoral practice and how private absolution remains a treasured expression of Christ’s forgiveness.

It promises to be a morning of thoughtful discussion and renewed appreciation for the ways in which Christ still speaks His words of mercy personally to His people. Men are encouraged to RSVP on the easel in the narthex or contact the church office to ensure we have enough food and materials prepared. Come hungry, both for breakfast and for the Word of God at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church near Lititz, PA

Family Group and Young at Heart Potluck

Saturday, November 22 • 4:00 PM • Manheim, PA

Later that same day, the Church Family Group and Young at Heart will gather at the home of David and Anna Garber, for an evening of Christian fellowship, good food, and study. Everyone is invited to bring a dish or two to share for the potluck supper beginning at 4:00 PM. After the meal, adults will join together for a discussion-based Bible study while the children enjoy organized playtime.

These gatherings provide a special opportunity for families and individuals of all ages to connect outside of Sunday worship, to share in one another’s joys and burdens, to encourage one another in faith, and to grow as the household of God. Whether you are a young family, a retiree, or new to the congregation, you will find a warm welcome and a chance to build meaningful friendships in Christ. Please RSVP on the narthex easel or contact the our church near Lititz for directions and details.

Through mornings of study and evenings of fellowship, Mount Calvary continues to live out the liturgical lifestyle of the Church, a rhythm of worship, learning, and community that flows from the Lord’s gifts given in Word and Sacrament. As we gather this weekend, may the Lord bless our conversations, our meals, and our mutual encouragement in the faith. All are welcome to join us as we grow together in the grace of Christ.

The 22nd Sunday After Trinity in Church near Lititz

This Sunday we hear Jesus’ Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. He was forgiven much, but loved little. Our gracious God gave His only begotten Son for our transgression. It is not about what we do, give, or offer, but about the salvation He willingly and freely gave to us. He releases us from the enormous debt of sin against Him. As partakers of His grace and recipients of Christ, we need not imprison our fellow sinners with our refusal of forgiveness, but pray that our love and affection to those who have sinned against us may about more and more, that we might walk humbly with our God.
