Sermon on the Fifth Sunday in Lent at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church
The Fifth Sunday in Lent Sermon & Bulletin
A week before Holy Week our journey in Lent gets darker. The crosses in the church are veiled, and the Glory be to the Father (Gloria Patri) is omitted. Even as our goal of Jesus Passion draws nearer, we see in today’s Gospel that Jesus comes to do the will of the Father and seek His Father’s honor, not His own. This is the Lord’s great glory which we laud. Praise be to Jesus Christ who came to do what the Father asked of Him and who loved to do it. May we do the same in our lives.

Box drum or bongo drum wanted – Do you have a bongo drum or a box drum that the church can borrow for informal hymn sings? We have folks who can play, but nothing for them to play. If so, please contact Gabriel Edwards or Michael Owens. Thank you!
