Looking ahead to September 24 Worship & Bible Class
This Sunday we find Jesus going to the city of Nain. A large funeral procession carrying the only son of a widow is confronted by the large procession of Jesus and His followers. Filled with compassion, Jesus touches the coffin and speaks His creative words of life, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” Jesus does what is neither expected nor requested. Jesus bore our death in His body that we may share in His resurrection. You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.
Old Testament: 1 Kings 17:17-24
Psalm: Psalm 30:1-12
Epistle: Ephesians 3:13-21
Gospel: Luke 7:11-16
Light for the World Gathering
Following the Divine Service today we will launch our “Light for the World” Ministry Expansion Campaign by holding an informational forum where everyone will have the opportunity to ask questions. Enjoy coffee, tea, and light snacks in the sanctuary as the informational forum takes place. Children’s activities will also take place during the forum. A lovely meal and fellowship in the evangelism wing will follow.
