Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Updates
Midweek Advent Service at Mount Calvary
A Midweek Advent Service was held on Wednesday, December 4 as we journey to the island of Crete. Titus receives a letter from the Apostle Paul tasking him with building up the church with faithful pastors and people. His job is difficult as the Cretan people are known to be lazy, beastly, and gluttonous. In this winter getaway as we journey to the Mediterranean Sea, we will consider the duties of pastors and people, what God asks of them, how we live in this world as we await our Lord’s joyous coming and happy appearing.
The bulletin for the service is available here.
The sermon text is not available.
An audio recording of the sermon is available:
Lutheran Public Radio – Sacred Music for the World
Tired of listening to “Santa Baby” in stores and restaurants? Can’t stand another dose of “Wonderful Christmas Time”? Had your fill of “All I Want for Christmas Is You”? Hoping to hear something a bit more focused on Christ than “The Little Drummer Boy”? In December, Lutheran Public Radio will webcast music for Advent up to Christmas Eve. On December 24, it will be time to begin hearing the sacred sounds of Christmastide. Listen to the familiar carols that you know, as well as other music that may be new to you. You can access the Music of the Church anytime at LutheranPublicRadio.org on your computer or smart devices.
Please consider giving Mount Calvary a 5 Star Review on our Google Profile. This greatly helps others find us when searching for a church in Lancaster County and beyond. It is very simple and quick, just CLICK HERE.
Prepare Your Hearts & Minds for December 8 Worship & Bible Class
Advent centers our hearts on the coming of the Lord. On this Second Sunday in Advent, we hear about the blessed Second Coming of the Lord. As we wait, we do so with expectation, and in repentance. Our Lord will return to lead home His bride, the Church. You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.
Join us for Adult Bible Class in the Evangelism Wing following the worship service. This Sunday, we will study the very first lesson of Song of Songs (1:2-4), “Yearning for His Kisses.”
