Mount Calvary Announcements and July 30 Worship Focus
Betty Trim, a long-time member of Mount Calvary, entered eternal life on Monday, July 24. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM this Friday, July 28, 2023 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Petersburg Road, Lititz. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 AM. After the service, the congregation will process to the Memorial Garden where Betty’s remains will be interred. A light reception in the Garden will take place afterward. The congregation is invited and encouraged to attend as we show our love and support to her family and as we gather to reflect on sin and sorrow and our hope in Christ through His death and resurrection from the grave. Blessed be her memory. Betty’s obituary can be viewed here: Elizabeth B. Trim Obituary | Lancaster, PA | Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home
Men’s Bible Study Breakfast will meet at 7:30 AM on Saturday, July 29 in the Evangelism Wing at Mount Calvary. Come enjoy a hearty breakfast cooked by a fellow member (free will donation of $5), and good conversation with your brothers in Christ. This month we continue our study on manliness as we look at the life of Moses. Join us as we strengthen our understanding in our God-given roles as men in our lives, church, and world. (Each month after the class is over, for those who wish to stay, some trustee projects may be available.)
Young Families Group will not be meeting on July 29. As a new topic has yet to be chosen for our group, we will focus our attention on attending the gathering on August 19 with special guest Pr. Peter C. Bender, who will speak about the challenges of teaching the faith in our home life. We will plan to roll out a new book or topic for YFG for the fall.
This Sunday is the final day have your photo taken for the new Mount Calvary directory! Please stop by the Mother’s Room after church if you have not already had your photo taken. It only takes a minute! If you are not currently a member but attend Mount Calvary regularly, we would love to include you! No old photos on file will be used so please assist us in completing this project.
Our Midweek Divine Service was held on Wednesday, July 26 as we observed Wednesday of the Seventh Week after Trinity.
The bulletin for the service is available here.
The sermon text is available here.

July 30 Worship & Bible Class
Jesus speaks to us today about being wary of false prophets. False prophets will be judged, and false teaching cannot save. You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.
Old Testament: Jeremiah 23:16-29
Psalm: Psalm 26:1-12
Epistle: Romans 8:12-17
Gospel: Matthew 7:15-23
Join us for Adult Bible Class in the Evangelism Wing following the service. This Sunday, we will continue our study of Romans chapters 4 & 5. The righteous are justified by faith.
Nancy Marshall visits Ruth Morehead at Garden Spot Village in New Holland as part of our Mercy Care Team. Mercy Care Team members visit our shut-ins once a month, providing friendship and prayer as representatives of our congregation. We thank all of our Mercy Care Team for their work done in the name of Jesus.
