Lancaster Lutheran Church @ Mount Calvary Announcements from July 7th
Women of Mount Calvary begins a new study of the Gospel of John this Saturday, July 8, at 2 PM. We invite all women of the congregation with us in the evangelism room (fellowship hall) as we begin our study of chapters 7-12. This month we will see that Jesus attends the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem. What is this feast, why was it celebrated by the ordinary Jew, and how did Jesus use this feast to speak about what He came to do? We will see some fascinating things about this feast, including the fact that John is the only Gospel writer to mention it!
Our Midweek Divine Service was held on Wednesday, July 5 as we observed Wednesday of the Fourth Week after Trinity.
The bulletin for the service is available here.
The sermon text is available here.
An audio recording of the sermon can be listened to here:

July 9 Worship & Bible Class
The disciples were fishing all night. Jesus asked them to cast their nets in the daytime, something that seemed foolish. The catch, nevertheless, was large. Jesus wishes us to follow His commands. He will provide for us out of the storehouses of His riches and bring us to the safe havens of His loving provision. Jesus invitation goes out, “Leave behind your life and way of thinking, and come and follow Me!” You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.
Old Testament: 1 Kings 19:11-21
Psalm: Psalm 16:1-11
Epistle: 1 Peter 3:8-15
Gospel: Luke 5:1-11
In Adult Bible Class we will study Romans chapter 3. Paul moves from the problem—universal human unrighteousness and condemnation under the law—to the solution—the righteousness of Jesus Christ who fulfilled the law of God, and whose righteousness is given by God the Father as a free gift to those who have faith in His Son. Join us in the Evangelism Wing after the Divine Service for a study, a cup of coffee, and some conversation with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
