Summer Travels – With the school year concluded, many of you will be traveling. Summer proves a wonderful time to visit loved ones or take the family on an adventure. If you find yourself in one of these situations and need a place to attend the Divine Service while you are away, remember this: Not all Lutheran Church Missouri Synod churches are the same as Mount Calvary which is okay. What I mean by this is that not every congregation has the same chanting as us, nor do they have the same quality of music, nor does every Church use vestments as we do. Again, this is okay. However, to judge a congregation correctly, you should refer to Article VII of the Augsburg Confession as it says, The Church is the congregation of saints [Psalm 149:1] in which the Gospel is purely taught, and the Sacraments are correctly administered. For the true unity of the Church, it is enough to agree about the doctrine of the Gospel and the administration of the Sacraments. It is not necessary that human traditions, that is, rites or ceremonies instituted by men, should be the same everywhere. As Paul says, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all” (Ephesians 4:5–6). So, what’s most important in locating a church to attend is this, “the Gospel is purely taught and the Sacraments are correctly administered.” To assist you in locating a church to attend while you are traveling, check out one of these websites:

Or ask the pastor for assistance; he’d be happy to help you!
July 2 Worship & Bible Class
Six months before Christmas, we gather to take up the story of Mary’s visit to her cousin Elizabeth. After receiving the exciting message from the angel Gabriel that she would become the mother of the promised Messiah, Mary hastily came into the threshold of Elizabeth’s home and spoke to her about what God had accomplished in her womb. Upon hearing the news, the baby in Elizabeth’s womb (the prophet John the Baptist) leaped for joy. Elizabeth was immediately filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking and praising God for the blessings that He was showering down upon Mary and her and the human race through the birth of Mary’s son. On this day where we celebrate the visit of the Virgin Mary to Elizabeth, we rejoice that as they held each other in their arms, in both of their wombs was the promised redemption that was to be brought to all people. You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.
In Adult Bible Class we will study Romans chapter 3. Paul moves from the problem—universal human unrighteousness and condemnation under the law—to the solution—the righteousness of Jesus Christ who fulfilled the law of God, and whose righteousness is given by God the Father as a free gift to those who have faith in His Son. Join us in the Evangelism Wing after the Divine Service for a study, a cup of coffee, and some conversation with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
