February 4 Worship & Bible Class Preparation
On Sexagesima Sunday we hear the Parable of the Sower & the Seed (Luke 8:4-15). Jesus has come to sow the seed of the Word of God. You may prepare by reading the Propers of the day.
Old Testament: Isaiah 55:10-13
Psalm: Psalm 84:1-12
Epistle: 2 Corinthians 11:19-33 & 2 Corinthians 12:1-9
Gospel: Luke 8:4-15
Let not the sly satanic foe
This holy seed remove,
But give it root in ev’ry heart
To bring forth fruits of love.
So when the precious seed is sown,
Life-giving grace bestow
That all whose souls the truth receive
Its saving pow’r may know.
